WELCOME 2 HOUSTON

Slim Thug • Mike Jones • Two tapes, one city

Northside • Back then they didn't want us • Slowed for the slab

Gangster rap never asked permission. It documented the block, the ride, the score, and the aftermath — Memphis to Compton, Houston to New York. This page keeps two Houston tapes on the table: Slim Thug’s “Welcome 2 Houston,” chopped and screwed by DJ Joker, and Mike Jones’ “Back Then,” screwed and chopped by Stilo Stylez.
